There is no such thing as a safe space. We exist in the real world and we all carry scars and have caused wounds. This space seeks to turn down the volume of the world outside and amplify the voices that have to fight to be heard elsewhere. This space will not be perfect. It will not always be what we wish it to be, but it will be ours together and we will work on it side by side.

Rules

Eldritch Café's rules are as follows:

  • Do not engage in harassment of any kind.
  • Do not publish private conversations, except to the moderation team if you need to report them.
  • Racial, sexist and other oppressive slurs will get you suspended, even in non-public conversations.
  • You can post pornography and nudity, but you must flag the content as sensitive and must not post it on any public timeline.
  • Be nice to each other.
  • Don't follow one of the accounts hosted on this instance by using a follow bot.
  • Use of bots on this instance is submitted to admins' authorization.
  • It is forbidden to create a corporate account for advertising purposes.

More generally, note that if you don't like "SJW", "feminazis", antifascists, etc., it might save you some time to go somewhere else.

Moderation

The instance's moderation is taken care of voluntarily by the administrators and the moderators. They enforce the above rules. To that end, they are free to use all the tools at their disposal.

The list of instances suspended or muted by Eldritch Café is available on GitHub.
