Gender discrimination at tech event

Young female founder of a robotics startup participates in an annual tech event in order to present the company's work. Since the main focus of the event was on the construction industry the audience was mainly middle-aged upper class men. One of the potential customers (owner of a big construction company) approaches the female founder and asks: "Hi dear, did you inherit the company from your father?"
