Interneting is easy!

basic HTML

Heading 2

There are six headings, the bigger the number, the smaller the heading

Headings are the primary ways to mark up different sections of your content. They define the outline of your webpage for humans and for search engines

Lists

This is an ordered list

  1. wake up
  2. do the things you need to do
  3. go to bed

differentiating between ordered and unordered might sound silly but it has significance to readers and browsers. Examples of ordered list are: step-by-step instructions, table of contents, calendars etc.

Inline Elements

Sometimes, you might want to draw attentions to certain things

Other times you might want to strongly emphasize things

Apparently this is shouting! Though I'm not convinced

Empty html elements

Most elements are wrapped in opening and closing tags, but some can be "empty" or "self-closing"

breaks and horizontal rules

breaks are useful wheree text formatting matters, but they can be easily abused

horizontal rules represent thematic breaks, the transition from one scene to the other etc.
