Dear Applicant, 
Thank you for applying for the 2021/22 residency programme at the Jan van Eyck Academie. The selection committee spent the last months carefully reviewing some 750 project proposals out of which 32 were selected and admitted into the upcoming residency programme.
I regret to inform you that, unfortunately, your proposal was not selected for the 2021/22 programme. As a post-academic institute, our aim is to strike a balance regarding artistic disciplines and research fields, geographical and cultural backgrounds, as well as age and experience. Even though every application held special intentions, revealed artistic individuality and were of great interest to the committee, many great proposals had to be turned down due to either limited availability or other reasons relating to project development. 
I would once again like to thank you for applying and for the confidence you have shown in the institute. You may be reassured by knowing that almost every year we accept applicants who have applied twice or even more times before, so please consider applying again in the future. Your portfolio and project proposal will be reviewed with equal interest and concentration.
