Our rules 0. This instance's moderation/administration staff reserves the right to delete any toot (post) or account, and the right to block/silence any instance, if we decide those are doing more harm than good to the community.

  • This usually applies to posts/users/instances that break the following rules, but may also apply to cases which are unaccounted for.

1. Anything against Brazilian law is not allowed here.

2. Everything posted by you is your responsibility.

  • If someone else goes against the rules on your account, you are the one who should be more careful next time.
  • If you post anything that's against the law, this is not the responsability of colorid.es' staff.
  • If you do anything against the rules of this instance on another account, your account may still be punished.

3. Bigoted and/or annoying attitudes won't be tolerated.

  • There is a limit between contributing to oppression on accident because of society's default views and insisting on contributing to oppression because you think certain opinions are "not a big deal" or "common sense".
  • There is a limit between asking questions and insisting on not understanding why something is bad to a certain group of people.
  • There is a limit between joking around without knowing someone could get offended and insisting on "joking around" because "it's not serious".
  • There is a limit between wanting to express oneself and posting many repetitive and/or short messages with essentially no new content. If you want to spam, use the private or unlisted options.
  • Even if it doesn't have to do with known kinds of discrimination/oppression, try not to judge people for "strange", "ridiculous" ou "childish" behavior when it doesn't affect you. Extreme cases of this may lead to moderation action.

4. Avoid fights.

  • If someone is acting in bad faith, argue without resorting to vague/baseless insults, block the person and/or report them.
  • Even if somewhere else someone made bad decisions regarding a person or group, here is not the place to plan "raids" against other spaces.
  • If someone exposes a way to communicate with someone that did something problematic, don't think it's a good idea to send messages with violent suggestions to them. If such messages come from this instance, we may take action against this on here.

5. Use content warnings when necessary. Content that needs labeling includes:

  • Politics (as in elections and government decisions)
  • Blood/gore/violence
  • Sexual content or content with sexual connotations
  • Abuse, bullying, suicide, stalking, eugenicism and other negative situations people may want to avoid reading or seeing images about, especially because of their own past experiences
  • Discussions or warnings about epidemics, pandemics and natural disasters (or other similar dangerous events such as fires) that are ongoing or in recent memory
  • Discussion or mentions of incest
  • Negative experiences regarding discrimination (racism, ableism, misogyny, dyadism, heterosexism, cissexism, exorsexism, monossexism, antisemitism, xenomisia, classism, whoremisia, against non-monogamous people, etc.)
  • Alcohol/drugs
  • Spoilers regarding media that has been out for less than 7 days:
    • If such media is a videogame, a movie, an episode of a reality show/cartoon/series, a book/text/video/audio which contains a fictional or real story that may be "spoiled" if someone tells its development or ending: content warnings for spoilers are mandatory;
    • If such media is an ad, an academic publication, a journalistic article/show, or a video/text/audio/image that's meant to be informative and that doesn't contain any story that may be "spoiled" if its development or ending is told: content warnings for spoilers aren't needed, unless such media spoils something that applies to the item above;
    • If such media doesn't fit either or fits both of the descriptions above, use common sense. And if you still aren't sure, maybe put the content inside a spoiler content warning anyways.

It's not mandatory to use content warnings for other kinds of contents or subjects, but we recommend using them as much as you think it's worth it. See what other people content warn, for instance.

6. If you want to make an account with the purpose of posting automated content ("bot"), advertising or other kinds of "borderline against the rules" content, please contact the staff beforehand, so we can tell you how you can proceed.

7. Don't steal content, and respect artists'/creators' wishes. Details:

  • If someone doesn't want their content to be reposted, don't repost it.
  • Unless the content is explicitly marked as something that doesn't need attribution (such as public domain content), every book/song citation, video, image (including avatar/header), ASCII art, etc. needs to be credited, either by a link to the artist's profile, a link to somewhere that properly attributes the content or by citing an artist's name and/or the work's name, unless the work is your own.
  • If an artist asks you to remove their art from your profile or avatar, you'll have to remove it.

Instances with completely different rules than ours may be blocked. However, slight rule differences (with regards to content warnings for certain things, for instance) may be tolerated. Be careful while navigating the global timeline.
