Ada Initiative is a US-based feminist organisation, started in 2011 to address issues of sexism, producing codes of conduct and anti-harassment policies, advocating for gender diversity and teaching ally skills in the F/LOSS and Tech industry. It was founded by Valerie Aurora and Mary Gardiner.

Many of the founders and advisors of Ada Initiative are also contributors to the Geek Feminism Wiki and blog, while also being founding members of intersectional feminist and gender non-conformist hackerspaces.

The Ada Initiative shut down in 2015, but as stated in the project's website, the initiators encourage other communities to continue building on Ada Initiative's work. Much of their work remains available on adainitiative.org and is freely licensed as Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike so that it can be adapted and improved by another community.
