Choice of Study

This incident took place when I was at the first year of studying Information Sciences and Technology. I was hanging around at the university with some people from my semester (all male) and my brother who is older but was also studying there passed by, so I introduced him. When he left one of them said "Oh that's why you decided to study here, now it makes sense". Of course! If a woman is studying in this field she is probably following a man's footsteps. There is no way that she actually has an interest in it herself. This makes sense...
Unfortunately I did not reply to his comment at all. Sometimes the level of stupidity and prejudice leaves you speechless.
