I believe that we should have a manual, of how to answer a colleague... I am a software developer. A colleague of mine was commenting in a terrible offensive way on Github. I asked him:  can you be more constructive in your comments? And he said: English is not my native language, I don't know how to speak to ladies...

Of course, discrimination can come also from other women.
