Email Drama

In 2019, a feminist group sent an open proposal to the mailing list of a hackerspace. The proposal was about hosting a feminist server and experiment with it. The responding emails to this initiative varied, but a lot of them were particularly negative about feminist interventions in standard technical language.
Some women of the group decided to turn these intense emails in scripts and scores, as dramatic reading exercises. They invited some of their friends to rehearse and record vocal experiments. Through dramatic reading, the hidden paratextual emotions of the emails were emphasised. The female voices gave room to expose paralogisms and exhaust different ways of talking.
